Our Short Story

For over 30 years, Damon and Audra Albert dedicated their lives to the development of programs that serve at-risk children. The SHINE Committee recognized that the mission could not grow if camps, fundraising, outreach, management, and counseling fell on Damon, Audra, and the Camp Ezri Board of Directors. The decision was made to develop the SHINE Community.

Who are we?

The SHINE Community is a growing movement of people who believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued, safe, and loved.

We are volunteers, SUSTAINING PARTNERS, donors, advocates, business leaders, families, churches, and everyday people who have chosen to use our time, talents, voices, resources, and relationships to help transform the lives of at-risk children through Camp Ezri.

SHINE is a community built around hope, healing, adventure, connection, and lasting impact.

Together, we:

Support life-changing camp experiences for children facing trauma and hardship
Build meaningful relationships and opportunities for healing
Encourage others to get involved and become part of the mission
Create sustainable support through volunteering, giving, partnerships, and advocacy
Shine light into places where children need hope most
